Club History
2008
2008 started in turmoil as the League coach decided to quit the club a week before the first game of the season. His assistant coach, Julian Fritz, stepped up and took on the Senior coaching position and performed remarkably well. After finishing the season as Minor Premiers with fifteen wins and a draw, the League side made the Grand Final for the first time since 2002 by beating Brentwood Booragoon by 2 points in the 2nd Semi Final. Unfortunately the League lost the Grand Final to Kingsway by 32 points. However, making the Grand Final saw the Club earn promotion to "C" grade for the 2009 season. Leading goal scorer for the League team was Aaron Lloyd who finished with 42 goals. The Reserves side finished the year in third spot on the ladder with thirteen wins. After defeating Carlisle by 54 points in the Elimination final and Manning by 45 points in the 1st Semi final, the Reserves season ended with a 29 point loss to Brentwood Booragoon in the Preliminary final. Leading goal scorer for the Reserves team was Troy Barradeen who finished with 46 goals. Jumper design changed to a large black "V" on blue jumper. Late 2008 also saw the completion of our new clubrooms at Kingfisher Park.
2007
In what was considered a rebuilding year for the club, the League side finished the season in fifth spot on the ladder out of fourteen teams, having twelve wins and a draw. Unfortunately the League lost the Elimination final to Carlisle by 36 points. The Royals Reserves side finished the year in twelfth spot with five wins.
2006
The Royals Reserves side wins back to back premierships after defeating Coolbellup by 26 points at Richard Guelfi reserve, Balcatta. The Reserves had finished the season second on the ladder with sixteen wins. The League side failed to make the finals after finishing the season in seventh spot with eight wins and a draw. The Colts finished the season in fifth spot with six wins and won their Elimination final against Dianella Morley before bowing out the following week in the First Semi final against Whitford. At the seasons end the League Coach, Kevin Andrews, retired after six years with the Club.
2005
First ever Premiership for the Club, after the Reserves defeated Melville by 51 points at Claremont Oval. The Reserves also finished the season on top of the ladder after going through the entire season undefeated. The League side made the finals for the first time in three years, in fifth spot with eleven wins, however lost the Elimination final to Belmont Redcliffe by 27 points. The Colts finished the season in second spot with twelve wins, but went out in straight sets in the finals after losing the Second Semi and then the Preliminary final to Collegians by 13 points. Also for the first time, the Club fielded a third senior side in "E" Grade who struggled all year and finished second last with one win and one draw.
2004
The Royals League side missed out on finals by half a game after finishing the season in sixth place with nine wins and a draw and the Colts missed out on the Grand Final after losing their Preliminary Final by 1 point to Kingsley following their third placing on the ladder with thirteen wins. After finishing the regular season in fourth spot, the Reserves made the Grand Final for the first time, unfortunately losing to Kingsley by 63 points. Adam Wood wins the WAAFL 'D' Reserves grade Fairest and Best award and Anton Saylor wins the WAAFL 'C' Colts grade Fairest and Best award. Leading goal scorer for the League team was Rob Saylor who finished with 56 goals.
2003
After six years, Ballajura are back to fielding three sides. The League and Reserves are in 'D' grade and the Colts are in 'C' grade. The League team finished the season in seventh place with seven wins, two games out of the finals. The Reserves side makes the finals for the first time after finishing in fifth spot with ten wins and a draw, but unfortunately lost to Mosman Park in the Elimination final by 4 points. The Colts team collected the wooden spoon with only two wins for the year.
2002
Ballajura moves from S.F.L. to West Australian Amateur Football League (WAAFL), reverting back to its original colours of black and blue. Ballajura fields a side in the 'G' grade and, with the assistance of the Ballajura Junior Football Club, fields a side in the 'C' Colts competition. The League team finishes the year as minor premiers for the first time, however, they lose the Grand Final to Melville by 7 points. Matthew Doliver becomes first player to score one hundred goals in a season, finishing with 110 goals. Troy Barradeen named as WAAFL 'G' grade Fairest and Best player.
2001
With new coach Kevin Andrews in charge, the Ballajura League side makes the finals for first time since 1997, after winning their last home and away match to finish in fifth spot by half a game, only to lose to Beechboro by 17 points in the Elimination final the following week.
2000
Ballajura changes from its original colours of black and blue to red, black and white due to clashes with Kenwick, who are also black and blue. The League side records four wins for the season and finishes in seventh spot out of nine sides. Leading goal scorer for the team was Troy Barradeen, who finished with 29 goals.
1999
Ballajura League side has six wins for the season and finished eighth out of ten teams missing out on finals by three games and plenty of percentage. The S.F.L. 'Administrator of the Year' award was won by Vic Sholdas.
1998
The S.F.L. drops its Division Two competition completely forcing Ballajura down to one team competing in the S.F.L. Saturday League competition. The League side had six wins and finished sixth for the season, missing the finals by two games and percentage. On a brighter note, Kane Datson was selected in the S.F.L. 'All-Stars' Colts team. Leading goal scorer for the team was Jeff Grant, who finished with 29 goals.
1997
Ballajura can only field League and Reserves sides due to the S.F.L. dropping the Division Two Colts competition. After starting with seven clubs in Division Two it is now down to four. The League side finished in third spot with five wins, but lost the First Semi final to Kingsley. The Reserves side had only one win and finished last, but with only four teams in the competition they played and lost the First Semi final to Mosman Park. Leading goal scorer for the League team was Troy Wirth, who finished with 39 goals.
1996
The League side won their first ever game after defeating Kingsley in round 3 but still finished the season with the wooden spoon by winning only two games. The Reserves also had a very tough year and picked up the wooden spoon as well, winning only one game for the year. The Colts side once again was the stand out for the club by becoming the first team to make finals for Ballajura with eight wins, but unfortunately lost the First Semi final to Belmont.
1995
Ballajura Senior Football Club formed. First season, playing in Sunday Football League Division Two, fielding a League, Reserves and Colts teams. Nicknamed 'Royals' and playing in club colours of black and blue. The League team failed to win a game in their inaugural season and finished last on the ladder. The Reserves won three games and finished second last and the Colts had a good year with seven wins and finishing in fifth spot, only missing the finals by one game
